Medical Psychology explores the brain mechanisms underlying regulation and dysregulation of
the mind, with an introduction to neuroscience research methods and neuroscientific
interventions to pathology. This course is structured in three main units: (1) The structure and
function of the Biological Systems in the brain, (2) Examining Cognitive Mechanisms and
Pharmacology in the realm of medical psychology, and (3) Examples of Case Studies and
Neurodegenerative Disorders that have driven our current understanding of the brain. This
course will emphasize the applications of neuroscience in the context of psychology, medicine,
and related disciplines.
